A separate private area with its own lanes can be rented for private events. Drinks such as soft drinks, beer, and even sparkling wine are available at the counter. However, intoxicated individuals are not allowed to participate.

And then the axe throwing itself!

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. At the beginning, safety instructions were reviewed, and tips were given for proper throwing technique. The right technique ensures the axes stick to the target, although it does take a bit of practice. First, the focus was on getting the technique right, and then the competition could begin.

The scoring is simple: three concentric circles are painted on a wooden board.

  • Hit the center, bulls eye = 5 points
  • Hit between the black and red rings = 3 points (hitting the black counts as 3)
  • Between the blue and red = 1 point
  • Hit the green spots at the top = 7 points, but only if you declare your attempt beforehand

The competitive element made the experience even more fun—especially once the points started adding up, meaning the axes were finally sticking!.

Axe Throwing in Helsinki | The Experience

If you’re looking for things to do in Helsinki, axe throwing is a unique option. Overall, axe throwing was a very fun and relaxed experience. Misaij can warmly recommend it as an activity for a laid-back evening, especially for those willing to try something new. Unusual activities like this are great for work groups, bachelor/bachelorette parties, as well as for friends and couples. It also makes a great gift idea! Knife throwing is also available for an additional fee, but we didn’t try it this time—maybe next time!
